Learning Blade has helped to provide an informational text and conceptual framework for the career technical exploration facet of my STEM class. Students are able to provide examples of how STEM careers could connect to different concepts from content areas. We are highly collaborative in my class and so students work together in groups or in whole-class settings on Learning Blade content. We developed quite a camaraderie over my different class sections to complete the lessons together – whether it was the career missions, the Intro courses to careers or other technologies, or design thinking projects we came up with. All of these lines of lessons add to the free inquiry learning process I support in my classroom – where students have choice and voice in what they study. I survey my students at the end of each quarter of STEM to see the impact of each of our project lines. One student mentioned feeling like she had a jumpstart in life due to her work in the Learning Blade mission about Architecture since that is the career she is interested in. From Learning Blade, she grew in the 21st century skills of creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration to better prepare for her future!

I love how its adaptable and allows you to think in different directions. Since Learning Blade goes in a lot of different directions, I’ve used those directions to springboard to new ideas and inspiration.
