Huntingdon, TN – May 2025 – Twenty-two students from Carroll Academy were honored this week for completing a Ready for Industry course through the school’s Career Connect program. These students, all involved in the juvenile justice system, were recognized during a Workforce Readiness Recognition Luncheon for their commitment to building career skills and pursuing brighter futures.

“This isn’t just a ceremony—it’s a turning point,” said Joseph Butler, Mayor of Carroll County. “These young people have taken a major step forward, proving that with the right support and relevant preparation, meaningful futures are within reach.”

Ready for Industry (RFI), an eDynamic Learning company, is a workforce preparation program that equips students with foundational training in high-demand sectors. The Carroll Academy cohort completed specialized tracks in construction, healthcare, and information technology, gaining practical knowledge and essential employability skills. The RFI program emphasizes workplace safety, communication, professionalism, and industry expectations—helping students earn credentials that prepare them for both immediate employment and continued education.

Josh Sneideman, VP of Ready for Industry, praised the initiative, stating, “We are thrilled to see the impact Ready for Industry has had on the Carroll Academy learners. This will open doors to high-demand careers and provide a strong foundation for their futures.”

Carroll Academy Career Connect is a collaborative, student-centered program that leverages community partnerships to support career exploration and development. Designed to serve youth facing systemic barriers, the program connects classroom learning to real-world opportunities, creating pathways to stability, purpose, and self-sufficiency.

“At Carroll Academy, we’re not just teaching job skills—we’re planting seeds of hope, seeds of confidence, and the belief that each student has a future worth fighting for,” said Rene Sutton, Lead Instructor for the program. “Through Ready for Industry, we help them discover career paths they never thought possible and watch as they begin to believe in their own potential.”

The event also highlighted the critical role of local industry and agency partners. Dewayne’s Quality Metal Coating generously provided lunch for all attendees and donated gift cards to each student. In a powerful gesture of commitment, the company also pledged to hire one of the program graduates, demonstrating real investment in youth potential and second chances.

Other key partners recognized included the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, Office of ReEntry, eDynamic Learning, Douglas Construction, American Job Center, Barger Construction, and Vocational Rehabilitation—each playing a role in creating access to career pathways and wraparound support services.

With certificates in hand, students stood alongside teachers, mentors, and community leaders in a moment of pride and accomplishment. Their success sends a clear message: with the right tools and opportunities, justice-involved youth can thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Carroll Academy continues to welcome collaboration from local employers, educators, and service agencies to expand opportunities and build a future where every student has a path forward.
