Technical Lead, Knowledge Matters Simulations

Courses are designed to be flexible for teachers and ensure that students leave high school with the knowledge and preparation needed to make life-shaping college and career decisions.
Role Overview
In this role, you will report to the Principal Engineer and work closely with the rest of the Software Engineering team, DevOps, Business Systems, and other teams across the company.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to join a talented and motivated team and leverage years of development work and knowledge to become an impactful contributor to designing a well-known series of educational simulations. This role is critical to the success of the organization and will work closely with the product team to expand and enhance the company’s current product lines. Responsibilities
- Lead the completion of major initiatives on clear timelines that span across multiple development teams in eDynamic Learning.
- Ensure that the software your team delivers is high quality, measurable, and maintainable.
- Collaborate with management on building consensus across the org and providing direction.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
- Write maintainable, testable, and performant software.
- Participate in code review and perform extensive testing to ensure quality.
- Owning end-to-end feature development, including production monitoring and response.
- Bringing original ideas for designing and improving user interfaces and the educational experience within our web-based simulation products.
Ideal Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience developing web applications in at least two languages
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience creating web-based user interfaces with HTML5/Javascript
- 5+ years of experience developing computer games
- 3+ years of experience leading other software engineers
- Ability to understand and create mathematical models of financial and other real-world processes
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience with writing accessible user-interfaces
- Experience with 3D graphics APIs, eg. Three.js
- Experience with JS UI framework(s)
- Experience developing high-traffic systems
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Linux, and bash scripting
- Legally allowed to work in the US and/or Canada
